Alec Soth's America

As I am pretty sure that my work will cumulate in a book, I have started look at artists who's work is in book form, with particular regard to those who combine images that fall into the same rough categories and styles that I am using to document my road travel.

Alec Soth's book on America documents his travelling around the US, and his book forms a mixture of portrait, landscape and typological imagery.

I also find Soth portrait technique to be very inspiring; the shallow depth of field gives pick the subjects out from the background and are all very strong. Mainly, however, this book is giving me lots of ideas as to how I am going to present and layout my images in a book format.
